Richmond Box Culvert

A sheet pile cofferdam was installed around the perimeter due to unstable soils and water depth. Once installed, excavated and dewatered, the new 20’ span box sections were set in “clam shell” configuration, joints were grouted and the new structure was backfilled. We are currently constructing the approaching roadway to the structure and expect it to be opened to traffic in the next couple of weeks.
